The Children’s Services Summer Volunteer Program is now full.
Thank you to all of our applicants!
The Children’s Services Summer Volunteer Program provides positive and fun community service opportunities for students. Due to limited programming, volunteer opportunities are open to students entering HIGH SCHOOL ONLY (currently in 8th – 11th grade).
The application process is as follows:
1. A Yorba Linda Library Card in the student’s name is required to apply for a volunteer position. If the student does not have a library card, we encourage you to obtain one as soon as possible by filling out the Online Library Card Application. The library card can be picked up by presenting picture ID and proof of current address in the library lobby four business hours after applying for a card.
2. Yorba Linda residents may apply ONLINE beginning Saturday, May 15th. Non-Yorba Linda residents may apply ONLINE beginning Wednesday May 19th. Online applications will be accepted until positions are filled or through May 21st at 4 p.m.; therefore, we encourage those interested to apply early.
3. Once the application has been received, the volunteer coordinator will contact the student within three business days to assign a volunteer position based on the applicant’s residency, experience, and availability. Requests to work with friends cannot always be accommodated.
4. After the volunteer has been assigned a position, more details will be sent to the student.
The City of Yorba Linda will be making safety modifications to our programs to help mitigate the transmission of COVID-19 between individuals, including volunteers, participants, and Library staff. These modifications are based on the guidance of the CDC, State of California, and County of Orange Health Care Agency.
