What is Film Festival?

The Yorba Linda Public Library Teen Film Festival is an annual film contest designed for teens, grades 7th – 12th.
Acceptable submissions include: animation, advertisement, documentary, feature film, and music video.

How It's Judged

Judging will be conducted by judges and People’s Choice voting through the library’s website from Monday, February 20 – Saturday, February 25, 2023 11:59 p.m.

Awards Presentation

Winning entries for the 2023 Film Festival will be shown during the Teen Film Festival Awards Presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Virginia DeLand Blackbox Theatre.

Due Date

All entries are due to Yorba Linda Public Library before 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

General Guidelines

Grades 7-12 Only
The films must be directed, filmed, and edited by teens in grades 7-12.

Two (2) Entries Per Filmmaker
Each filmmaker may submit no more than two (2) films.

Film Guidelines
Films may be a maximum of 12 minutes in length. All editing must be done before submitting the film. Title pages and credits should be included for all film entries. All uploaded films must be in .mp4 format.

Create between September 1 - February 11
Entries must have been created between September 1, 2022– February 11, 2023 and may not have been submitted in any previous contest.

Complete Entry Form
Entry forms and films must be submitted digitally via the provided online form.

Prizes
All prizes will be awarded to the individual filmmaker who submitted the film, as listed by the participant on the official entry form. Although filmmakers may work in teams, only one prize will be awarded per winning film and will be made out to the name of the filmmaker submitted via the online form.

Content Appropriateness
Films must contain appropriate content for teens (equivalent of a G, PG, or PG-13 film). Entries cannot contain nudity, profanity, or excessive violence. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in immediate disqualification. Film Festival organizers reserve the right to reject any entry it deems inappropriate for general viewing.
