The wind sweeps through my every strand of hair, still cold to the touch yet
quenching the air

As I look out into the sky blue and at ease,
I sit there wondering if I can do something past my abilities

You collapse before rising again

And start to see a trail of all that’s left behind
The memories, the pain,
The happy things now in vain

Anew with lush leaves on the trees,
Purple, pink, red, flowers planted underneath

A sad sight to see
Parallel parked between history

Exiting for the night his lapels are flattened
He looks both ways
choosing the same direction
The anticipation and disgust climbs to the windows view
It would be sad if it wasn’t endearing,
If not just sad

By ten o’clock he retreats from the haven
Glazed persona, yet feeling safer for the night
His silver beckons him back
as he looks both ways
He flattens his sports coat and drives to his demise

until tomorrow.
