About the Festival

Showcase your work, connect with readers, and celebrate other local talent! The Yorba Linda Public Library's Local Author Festival is a celebration of local literary talent, offering authors the chance to connect with the community, promote their work, and network with fellow writers. The festival is tentatively set for Saturday, May 9 or Saturday, May 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.


How to Participate

We're now accepting applications from local authors interested in participating in this year's festival. Complete the application below. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Yorba Linda Author Applicants
Applications are open to authors who currently reside in Yorba Linda beginning Monday, January 26 through Saturday, February 21.

Orange County Author Applicants
Applications for authors residing in Orange County begins Monday, February 23 and closes on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Priority will be given to Yorba Linda residents, with additional space offered to other Orange County authors as availability allows. Residency will be verified through library card information.

Elgibility & Selection
A total of 15 authors will be selected to participate. Priority will be given to authors of adult fiction and nonfiction, though writers of other genres and age categories are encouraged to apply and will be considered as space permits.

What's Provided
Participating authors will be provided with space to display, sign, and sell their books, and select authors will also be invited to give a brief reading from their work during the event. Authors are responsible for bringing and selling their own books.
