How to Get a Library Card
Library cards are available to California residents, with a photo ID and proof of current address. Minors, under the age of 18, are required to have a parent or legal guardian present to be issued a library card.

How do I register my account?
The first time you log in, you will be prompted to create an online account.

• Go to the Log In page here
• Enter your library card barcode and PIN (last 4 numbers of phone number)

Why register my account?
By registering your account, you will be able to keep track of due dates, the status of your holds, view your recent activity, and more.

Borrowing Materials

• New library cards, for the first 30 days, may checkout 10 physical items at a time.
• After 30 days, library cards may checkout a total of 50 physical items at a time.

Courtesy Renewals
All fines are 20 cents per item, per day. Fines & fees can be paid by visiting the library in-person (cash, check, & credit card are accepted), or through the online payment system here. Digital items do not accrue fines or fees.

How can I avoid overdue item(s) fees?

• Register your account on our website
• Return items to 24-hour bookdrop outside the library

Lost Materials

• Items are considered lost if they are 30 days overdue
• If you lose an item, you will be charged a processing fee in addition to the cost of the material

Place Holds
You may place a hold on library material using our online catalog. When the item becomes available, you will be notified by email or by text if you signed up for the service at the Accounts Desk.

A maximum of 15 physical holds may be placed at a time.

Library cards may checkout 10 digital items at a time. A maximum of 10 holds may be placed on items in the digital library. To access digital books or digital audiobooks, please click here.

Courtesy emails are sent 2 days before items are due.

Patrons will receive an email 3 days after their due date to let them know they are overdue. Reminders are a courtesy. Returning materials on time is the responsibility of the borrower.

Courtesy Renewals
Items checked out to your library account will renew automatically 3 days prior to the due date. If your account has email notifications enabled, you’ll receive an email 2 days prior to the due date.

All eligible items will courtesy renew, except when:

• There is a hold on the item
• Items have reached their renewal limit
• They are Lucky Day Books, Lucky Day DVDs, Inter-Library Loans, Items that have a request
• They are digital items (eBooks, eAudiobooks)
• Your account is blocked due to any fines and fees on account

You may return all library materials with a few exceptions [records, cds, kits, Library of Things] in the book drops outside the library 24 hours a day. Materials may also be returned inside during regular business hours through the automated check-in system by the front door.
